National Archeological Museum of Taranto

The Museum occupies the former convent of Alcantarini Friars, built in the mid eighteenth century and, following enlargement operations in the mid-twentieth century, the adjacent northern body of the Ala Ceschi.

The first floor houses the Greek, Roman and Apulian collections, including some gold that made famous the museum in the world. The July 29, 2016 was inaugurated and opened the second floor.
